Fecal occult blood (FOB) refers to blood in feces that is not visible to the naked eye. Occult gastrointestinal bleeding may be caused by various conditions, including colorectal cancer, polyps, ulcers, and hemorrhoids. Human hemoglobin is an iron-containing protein in red blood cells responsible for oxygen transport; when bleeding occurs in the gastrointestinal tract, hemoglobin can be released into feces.
The FOB Rapid Test Cassette (Feces) utilizes a double antibody combination of an anti-human hemoglobin antibody coated particle and anti-human hemoglobin antibody immobilized on membrane to detect human hemoglobin qualitatively and selectively in feces.
